The decision followed careful consideration, especially as his partner, Rose, recovered from breast cancer. Jeffrey emphasized that her health was a key factor in his choice to return after a three-year absence from the Irish League.
Former Ports player Philip Major believes the team will avoid relegation, citing a strong leadership group within the squad. Jeffrey inherits a side that finished eighth last season and has added six new players during a busy transfer window.
